Check EBT Card Balance Without Card Number
If you are trying to check your EBT card balance by phone but do not have your card with you, we can help.
The easiest way to get your balance is to find your last transaction receipt. At the bottom of the receipt, you will see the balance from your most recent transaction. That may not reflect the exact balance on your account if there are pending transactions that have not yet cleared.
If you want to be 100% sure of what the balance is on your card without having your card with you, you follow the steps below:
Step 1
Click on the link to your states’s balance check page above.
Step 2
Locate the phone number for customer service for your EBT card.
Step 3
Dial the customer service number and go through the prompt. Select the prompt to talk to a live person.
Once you get someone on the phone, tell them you want to check your EBT card balance but you don’t have your card with you. Therefore you would like to check the balance with your Social Security number.
They may ask you for other identifiers to make sure you are who you say you are. Once you are able to identify yourself successfully, you should be able to check the balance on your EBT Card.
