2023 Summer P-EBT Payments
Children who receive free or reduced-price meals under the National School Lunch Act are eligible to receive P-EBT benefits for Summer 2023.
P-EBT also provides benefits to younger children in households participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) whose covered child care facility is operating with reduced hours or attendance.
On Jan. 30, 2023, the Biden Administration announced that the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE) declaration will end on May 11, 2023.
As a result, children under 6 in households participating in SNAP will not be eligible for Summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
However, school children who attended an NSLP-participating school at the end of school year 2022-23 will still be eligible for summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
Additionally, all P-EBT benefits, for both the school year and the summer, must be distributed by September 30, 2023.
Eligibility for Summer P-EBT (2023)
Households with eligible school children will receive P-EBT benefits for Summer 2023.
The following school children are eligible for PEBT benefits:
School children who attended a National School Lunch Program (NSLP) participating school at the during school year 2022 – 2023 and qualified to receive free or reduced price school meals.
This includes:
- School children who attended a school that participated in the Community Eligibility Provision or Special Provisions 2 or 3 in school year 2022 – 2023.
- Children who were directly certified for free school meals or who were certified by application for free or reduced price school meals during school year 2022 – 2023.
School children who attended a National School Lunch Program participating school at the end of school year 2022 – 2023 and are determined newly eligible for free or reduced price school meals.
Children in schools or school districts that have been newly approved to begin operating under the Community Eligibility Provision or under Provisions 2 or 3 in school year 2022 – 2023 are only eligible for Summer P-EBT 2023 benefits if they are determined income eligible or eligible for free or reduced school meals.

Summer P-EBT Payment Dates for June 2023
Currently, 9 of the 38 approved states for Summer P-EBT 2023 will be issuing their payments in June.
These states include:
- Georgia
- Hawaii
- Indiana
- Ohio
- Puerto Rico
- Tennessee
- West Virginia
- Wisconsin
- Wyoming

Georgia
Over 925,000 eligible school children in Georgia households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.
Georgia Summer P-EBT Payment Dates: Thursday, June 1st through Friday, June 30th, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for Georgia: $120 per eligible child
2023 Summer P-EBT payments for any newly eligible children will be sent July 1st through August 31st.
Benefits will automatically be added to your Georgia EBT or P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing Georgia EBT or P-EBT Card, a P-EBT Card will be sent to the address that was on file at the student’s school during the 2022-2023 school year.
If you moved your P-EBT Card was sent to the wrong address, you should call the Georgia P-EBT customer service phone number at 888-421-3281 to request a replacement card.

Hawaii
Over 96,000 eligible school children in Hawaii households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.
Hawaii Summer P-EBT Payment Date: Wednesday, June 28, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for Hawaii: $139 per eligible child
A clean-up round for any newly eligible or missed school children for the 2023 Summer P-EBT payment will take place on Monday, September 11th.
Benefits will automatically be added to your Hawaii EBT or P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing Hawaii EBT or P-EBT Card, a P-EBT will be sent to you in the mail to your address on file.

Over 600,000 eligible school children in Indiana households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.
Indiana Summer P-EBT Payment Dates: Late June 2023 through early July 2023

Benefits will automatically be added to your Indiana EBT or P-EBT Card.

Over 677,000 eligible school children in Ohio households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.
Ohio Summer P-EBT Payment Date: Tuesday, June 20, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for Ohio: $120 per eligible child
All 2023 Summer P-EBT payments in Ohio will be issued by Friday, June 30th.
Benefits will automatically be added to your Ohio EBT or P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing Ohio P-EBT or EBT Card, a P-EBT will be sent to you in the mail before the payment date.

Over 291,000 eligible school children in Puerto Rico households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.

- Payment #2 (NAP Digits 4, 5, 6): June 15, 2023
- Payment #3 (NAP Digits 7, 8, 9): June 16, 2023
- Payment #4 (Non-NAP): July 20, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for Puerto Rico: $139 per eligible child
Benefits will automatically be added to your Puerto Rico EBT or P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing Puerto Rico EBT or P-EBT Card, a P-EBT will be sent to you in the mail.
Tennessee
Over 670,000 eligible school children in Tennessee households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits beginning in June.
Tennessee Summer P-EBT Payment Dates: Thursday, June 1, 2023 – Friday, June 30, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for Tennessee: $120 per eligible child
Benefits will automatically be added to your Tennessee EBT or P-EBT Card.

West Virginia
Over 230,000 eligible school children in West Virginia households will be issued their 2023 Summer P-EBT benefits in June.
West Virginia Summer P-EBT Payment Date: Monday, June 12, 2023
Summer P-EBT Payment Amount for West Virginia: $120 per eligible child
Benefits will automatically be added to your West Virginia P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing West Virginia P-EBT Card, a P-EBT will be sent to you in the mail by June 12th.
If your West Virginia PEBT Card has been lost, a new card may be requested by calling 1-866-545-6502.
In addition, West Virginia will send a letter to all Summer P-EBT eligible households outlining the benefit amount.

Benefits will automatically be added to your Wisconsin QUEST EBT or P-EBT Card.
If you do not have an existing Wisconsin EBT or P-EBT Card, a P-EBT will be sent to you in the mail before the payment date.
In addition, Wisconsin will send a letter to all Summer P-EBT eligible households outlining the benefit amount per eligible child.
