Manage Your Benefits – If you have been approved for Medicaid, Food Stamps, and Cash Assistance or are a current recipient, you can manage your benefits online through Benefits.ohio.gov. This includes being able to update your personal information to keep your account current and avoid interruption or a cut to your monthly assistance.
How to Create Benefits.ohio.gov Account
Here are the steps you need to take to create a Benefits.ohio.gov Account
Step 1 – Sign Up
The first step is to visit the Benefits.ohio.gov login page and click on “Click here to create a username” link as shown in the image below.
You will be taken to a page like the one below. There, you will have to enter the following information to create benefits.ohio.gov account as shown in the images below.
Enter the Personal information below and click “Save and Continue”
Personal Information
- First Name
- Last Name
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number
Next, enter the following contact information and click “Save and Continue”
- Home Phone Number
- Mobile Number
- Email Address
- Mailing Address
Next, enter the following information to complete the sign-up process. After you have successfully entered the information, click “Sign Up” as shown below.
- Username
- Password
- Select Security Questions and Provide Answers
If you entered the information correctly, you will be taken to a page like the one below that confirms the completion of the sign-up process. See below for what to do next.
Step 2 – Verify Your Identity
Once you finish the sign-up process, you will see this notice, which will ask you to authorize your identity to be verified before you proceed. Read it carefully. If you want to verify your identity electronically, you will have to click the “Continue” button as shown above.
“Identity Verification: Verifying your identity electronically is not required in order to apply for any kind of assistance. However, verifying your identity may allow us to determine if you are eligible for medical assistance as you complete your application. Identity verification also allows you to complete the annual renewal process for Medicaid online.
If you want to verify your identity, you can begin the process by clicking ‘Continue’. If you have a problem during the process, you can stop the identify verification process. After that, move on to filling out an application by clicking the Home / Ohio Benefits icon in the upper left-hand corner of the page. If you do not want to attempt identity verification, you can immediately begin the application process. To do this, click the Home / Ohio Benefits icon in the upper left-hand corner of the page, and then click on ‘Apply for assistance’ to start your application.”
Step 3 – Login
Now that you have successfully completed the sign in process, you should log in to your benefits.ohio.gov account to make sure everything works. Click here to be taken to the login page.
