Giant Food Now Accepts SNAP EBT Online
Since March 2020, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has added more grocery stores to the EBT online pilot program.
As of July 2021, Giant Food now accepts EBT online in 3 states and Washington, D.C. for delivery and pickup, as listed below.

There are currently 3 states and the District of Columbia where Giant Food allows SNAP EBT Cards to be used online for delivery and pick-up.

If you currently receive SNAP benefits, you can now purchase groceries online with your EBT card from Giant Food – for delivery or pick up.
The delivery service is offered in partnership with Instacart.
Customers that prefer Instacart rush delivery may also use their SNAP benefits to purchase grocery items from Giant Food at instacart.com/giant with an Instacart online account.
You can only use your EBT card to buy eligible grocery items. You will have to add a credit or debit card to pay for non-EBT-eligible items.
How to Use SNAP EBT Online at Giant Food
Follow the steps below to use your EBT card on GiantFood.com for delivery or curbside pickup.
Step 1 – Create an Account or Sign In
The first step when using your SNAP EBT benefits online at Giant is to create an account or sign into your existing account.
Visit the Giant website at GiantFood.com. After that, click the Sign In button located at the top-right of the webpage.
Next, select either Sign In or Create Account from the drop-down menu.

If you are signing into your Giant online account, proceed by entering your email address and password on file.
If you are creating a new account, you will be asked to provide your email address and create a password.
Your password must contain between 8-64 characters and include one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.
Once complete, confirm your password, as shown below.
Step 2 – Add your SNAP EBT Card
Once your are logged into your Giant account, the next thing you want to do is add your SNAP EBT Card to your account.
You can do this under your account profile by selecting Payment Information.
To add your SNAP EBT Card, you will be asked to provide your first name, last name and 16-digit EBT Card number.
Once entered, click the Save button.

If this is your first time using Giant, you will be asked to add your payment information at checkout, as seen below.
Step 3 – Shop for Groceries
After your EBT Card has been added, you can begin adding grocery items to your cart.
Once you are complete, proceed to checkout.
Step 4 – Checkout with SNAP benefits
Confirm your cart to make sure you have added all the items you would like to purchase. After that, proceed to checkout as normal.
At checkout on the order summary page, select the option that says Apply SNAP Benefits.
Note: Be sure to add any promo codes to your order prior to applying your food stamp benefits.
Next, choose an amount you would like to charge to your EBT Card.
Tip: It may be beneficial to check your EBT balance prior to checkout, so you know how much you can spend.
After reviewing your SNAP-eligible grocery items and subtotal, you can enter an amount to charge to your SNAP account.
Next, enter the PIN for your EBT Card. This will immediately apply the benefits from your SNAP account.
Giant Food will charge any remaining balance or delivery fees to your preferred credit/debit card or checking account.
To finish checking out, select the “Place Order” button.
After your Order is Placed
You may continue to edit your order up until your order cutoff time (typically a few hours before pickup/delivery), but you can only apply SNAP funds once per order.
Once the order is finalized, Giant Food will apply the SNAP funds to as many eligible items in the cart as possible.
If your final SNAP subtotal is less than the amount you designated, Giant Food will issue a refund to your SNAP account.
For any balance remaining on the order, including delivery/pickup fees and driver tip, Giant Food will charge the payment method you selected from the order summary screen at checkout.
