Utah EBT Card

The Utah Department Workforce Services is responsible for administering Utah Food Stamp benefits to approved, low-income households who meet income and other requirements

The program helps households by providing them with healthy, nutritious food to put on the table.

If you are approved for Utah food assistance, your benefits will be deposited electronically on an EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card.

The Utah EBT Card, also known as the Horizon Card is similar to a standard ATM or debit card.

The state of Utah deposits food stamp benefits on your EBT Card on the same day every month.

Utah EBT Card benefits can be accessed by 5 AM the morning after they are posted to your EBT Card account.

You can use the benefits to make approved food purchases at eligible retail locations.

Most Utah grocery stores accept EBT Cards as payment. Also, some grocery stores accept EBT online for pickup and delivery

Additionally, you can use your Utah EBT card at most farmers’ markets, including at select locations where you can double your money when you buy produce.

Lastly, you can get discounts and perks with your Utah EBT, including 50% off Amazon Prime, Free or Discounted phone and internet services, and more.

  2. The cost of the items you buy will be subtracted from the amount in your SNAP (Food Stamp) EBT account.
  3. Once the sale is complete, you will receive a receipt that shows the amount of your purchase and the amount of money that is left in your EBT account.
  4. You should keep these receipts so you know how much of the food stamp money remains in your EBT account each time you go to the store.
  5. You should also keep these receipts as your record of SNAP (Food Stamp) purchases in case there are problems or questions with your account.
