Step 1 – Visit the LA CAFE Website
The first step when logging into your LA CAFE account to manage your benefits is to visit the website. You can access the LA CAFE online portal here.
You should be taken to a page that looks like the one shown below.
Step 2 – Manage your Account
After that, there are two ways you can access the LA CAFE website to login your account. The first option is to click “New Applicants” section at the top of the page. Then, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the “Next” button. For help, please see our screenshot below.
The second option is to scroll down to the bottom of the page and select the “Manage my Account” section. After that, enter your User ID and click the “Next” button. Refer to our screenshot below for help.
Step 3 – Access Self Service Portal
Next, you will be taken to the LA CAFE Self Service portal homepage. Once you are on the new page, click the button that says, “Already a User? Click here to log in!”

Step 4 – Complete My.La.gov Login
You will now be taken to the My.La.gov Login Page. Proceed by entering your account information – User ID and Password. Once complete, click the “Sign In” button.
If you entered the correct information, you will now be logged into your LA CAFE online account. You can now access your benefits or submit an application for new benefits.

Step 1 – Visit the My.La.gov Login Page
The first step is to go to the My.La.gov Login Page. Click here to go to the Login Page.
Step 2 – Click the Help Page Link
Once you are on the My.La.gov Login Page, the next thing you want to click the link to the Help page.

Step 3 – Enter Email Address
Once on the My.La.gov Help Page, locate the “Forgot your User ID” section. After that, enter your email address and click “Send User ID Reminder.”
Be sure that the email address you entered is the same one used when you created the LA CAFE account.
Step 4 – Recover User ID
Next, login your email. You should have been sent an email that contains your LA CAFE User ID. You can now proceed to login My.La.gov with your User ID.

To reset your LA CAFE Password, use My.La.gov and follow the instructions below.
Step 1 – Visit the My.La.gov Login Page
The first step is to go to the My.La.gov Login Page. Click here to go to the Login Page.
Step 2 – Click the Help Page Link
Once you are on the My.La.gov Login Page, the next thing you want to click the link to the Help page.
You can find the link below the Login section. The link says, “Click here to get help logging in“.

Step 3 – Enter My.La.gov User ID & Email Address
Once on the My.La.gov Help Page, locate the “Forgot your Password” section. After that, enter your My.La.gov User ID and email address. After that, click “Send Password Reset Link.”
Be sure that the email address you entered is the same one used when you created the My.La.gov account.
Step 4 – Create a new Password
Next, log into your email address account. You will have an email that contains a link to reset your My.La.gov Password. Click that link and create your new password.
Once complete, put your password in a safe place and proceed to login your My.La.gov account as usual.

You can check the status of your application for benefits through the Customer Portal. To do this, login your LA CAFE account and go to the “Application Status Check” page. You will be able to view the status of your application and any reasons for denial.
How do I upload documents to my application?
There are two ways to upload your documents to LA CAFE. The first is through the “Verification Status Check” page. Click the “Upload Documents” button located at the bottom of the page.
The second way is under the “Cases” tab. Click the “Check My Cases” section, then click the hyperlink next to your case in the View Details column. From this page, you can click the “Upload Documents” button to go to the Document Upload page.

After you submit your online application, information will be provided on what verification documents may be requested. You may also be contacted by a DCFS caseworker regarding any additional information needed to process your application.
After your application is successfully processed, a DCFS staff member will contact you for an interview.
