Does Target accept EBT Card for Food Stamps?

It’s 2014 and it’s hard to imagine that there is any grocery store or supermarket that does not accept food stamps. This is because there are more than 46 million people on SNAP benefits – with many states having more than 20% of the households on food stamps or some form of public food assistance program. As we have explained in our recent post on the topic, most grocery stores and corner stores do take EBT card and farmers markets are beginning to get into taking them, even though they are used to taking only cash.

Does Target accept EBT Card or Food Stamps?

"Does Target accept EBT Card for Food Stamps?"

The answer is yes, Target accepts the card in all their store across the United States (Target operates 1,683 stores in 48 states, including 239 SuperTarget stores). Remember that you can only buy food that is approved for EBT purchases. So, the fact that Target accepts SNAP benefits only means that you can only buy the foods that are allowed under the program.
